Some tasting notes on what we're pouring from Outer Light!
Lonesome Boatman #1
Outer Light's inaugural beer, a brown ale, emphasizes balance. The malt bill boasts caramel and toasty flavors before giving way to the spicy English hop finish. A sound brew for the casual craft quaffer.
Libation Propaganda Coffee Stout
Do you like coffee? Then you can't go wrong with this beer. We use whole coffee beans from Ashlawn Farm in Lyme, CT to provide big coffee aroma and flavor, propped up by a roasted malt backbone with hints of dark chocolate. Smooth and creamy, Libation Propaganda currently outsells all other beers in our taproom. A best-selling stout in the summer? You know it's gotta be good.
At Outer Light, we know hop blending. Our flagship IPA balances a lightly sweet malt backdrop with a juicy hop profile. SUBduction IPA focuses on three hops with three distinct flavors: Citra (tropical fruit), Belma (pungent strawberry), and French Triskel (floral and light citrus fruit). Low in bitterness but high in flavor, we think you'll dive in for another round.
Trail Magic IPA
The heat is on. You just finished a long run in the sun. Or, you're sitting on your porch in the cool of the evening seeking respite from summer. Or, you're picnicking with family and friends and you desire a smooth, cold, flavorful beverage that won't put you flat on your back (not yet, anyway).
Enter Outer Light Brewing Company's Trail Magic IPA. Light and crisp, it tickles the tongue with flavors reminiscent of black tea, melon, and oranges. Sessionable and refreshing, this easy-drinking ale will satisfy your summer cravings.
In the Bluff Berliner Weisse
Outer Light Brewing Co.'s unique take on the sessionable German sour style includes spicy farmhouse ale yeast and a delicate dry hop with Equinox and Cascade hops. The resulting brew boasts a complex aroma of tropical fruit, grapefruit, and green peppers, and it finishes dry, tart, and mildly salty. We like to think of it as a beer drinker's Gatorade. Maybe the blue kind. Or purple mixed with yellow. Whatever it is, it's delicious.
